Another milestone for the Musical Intifada: today the number of likes on the Facebook page passed 40,000!

This, of course, means that thanks are in order. It is your support that keeps the project alive, and has kept the website online for more than 13 years. The fact that so many of you have liked the page is not felt as a small thing, but as an endorsement for the idea of promoting the Palestinian cause through music.

This is also a good moment to announce the new online directory of Doc Jazz songs, which was published on the website two days ago. If you click on the top menu button which says “All Doc Jazz Songs” you can browse the entire collection which has been organized on the basis of musical genre, and listen to each song instantly.

The directory will still be edited in the coming days and weeks, so please check back every now and then. For now, the song descriptions have been copied from the Doc Jazz collection on Soundclick, but the idea is to update these with better descriptions which help you decide which song you would like to hear.

Don’t forget that in the top left corner of the website there is also a streaming audio player which plays all songs one after another, so you can listen to the music in the background while you browse the web.

Again, many thanks for your attention and support, and we hope to be able to continue providing musical support for the hearts and souls of those who believe in the Palestinian cause for justice and liberation. Your help in propagating the project is highly appreciated, especially by sharing the Facebook page and sending invites to your friends.

Shall we try to hit the 50,000 milestone next? Let’s do it!

Doc Jazz

Doc Jazz is a Palestinian musician, currently based in the United Arab Emirates. He was born and raised in the Netherlands, which is where he started his first musical endeavors. He works full-time as a surgeon, and produces his songs in his free time. He usually does all the instruments and vocals in his recordings by himself. His music, which covers a wide variety of genres ranging from funky pop and jazz all the way to rap and Arabic music, has been featured on many media outlets in the Netherlands, in the Middle East, and elsewhere. The Palestinian cause plays a big role in the themes of his songs.
