Today morning, at around 10:30 Palestine time, Shireen Issawi, Samer’s sister, posted on her Facebook page that she was stopped by Israeli forces. Her car was jammed by two Israeli jeeps, and thoroughly searched. Shortly afterwards, news was being tweeted of her arrest.

The Israeli occupation forces continue to harass the Issawi family in attempts to break Samer Issawi’s will, and in order to coerce him to end his hunger strike. Recently, they arrested his brother Shadi, who is still being held captive.

Fortunately, Shireen Issawi posted on her Facebook a few hours later that she had been released again after having been held for several hours. Her defiant status message said: “They think they can taunt our nerves, but we are strong and we will win, and Samer will receive his freedom.”
