Every now and then, there must be a bit of good news to share. Well, we have some for you now. The Musical Intifada has installed three new features: a section in the Dutch language, mobile phone optimization and a Ustream channel for live video broadcasts. Read on to find out more about these new items.

It will please Dutch and Belgian visitors to the website that there is now a dedicated section for them, where all articles in Dutch can be found grouped together. True, most of what is published at the Musical Intifada is in English, in order to reach out to the world. However, four of the Musical Intifada crew are based in the Netherlands and Belgium, and it therefore makes sense to address Dutch-speaking audiences in their own language. If you look at the top menu, you will find a button that says ‘NL’, which will give you access to the Dutch section of the website. To make it easy for yourself, you can of course add it to your favorites.

We have also become aware that an increasing number of people use their mobile phones to browse the internet. Previously, the Musical Intifada was not exactly suitable for being accessed by phone. It was readable, but one had to navigate across the site horizontally in order to read the content properly, instead of only vertically. This issue has now been addressed, and if you visit the website on your mobile phone now, you will automatically get a phone-ready version of the site on your screen.

Last but not least, a Ustream channel has been opened in order to start broadcasting live video. The purpose of this channel is to organize live concerts by Doc Jazz every now and then, which will be announced through the Facebook page and through Twitter. Make sure you are either following Doc Jazz on Twitter or join the Facebook fan page, if you want to be sure to be notified so that you can join and watch Doc Jazz play some live songs on guitar, piano, shibbabeh or Oud (Arabic lute).

We hope these innovations are useful and that they help enhance your Musical Intifada experience. We do welcome your feedback, which you can send to us through the message box at the bottom of this website. Keep visiting, and it will be appreciated if you share the good news!

Doc Jazz

Doc Jazz is a Palestinian musician, currently based in the United Arab Emirates. He was born and raised in the Netherlands, which is where he started his first musical endeavors. He works full-time as a surgeon, and produces his songs in his free time. He usually does all the instruments and vocals in his recordings by himself. His music, which covers a wide variety of genres ranging from funky pop and jazz all the way to rap and Arabic music, has been featured on many media outlets in the Netherlands, in the Middle East, and elsewhere. The Palestinian cause plays a big role in the themes of his songs.
