Palestinians for Dignity: no return to negotiations!
DEMONSTRATION IN RAMALLAH ON SATURDAY the 4th! DETAILS POSTED BELOW —- —- At a time when the Amman “exploratory talks” have reached a dead end, much like other negotiation attempts which have been failing for the past 20 years, representatives of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) will consult this Saturday February 4th with the Arab League Follow-up Committee about ways out of the political impasse, including the possibility of a return to negotiations, in complete disregard to the Palestinian majority which rejects negotiations under the current circumstances.
Pressure is growing on the PLO to return to negotiations despite Israel’s on going colonization of our land, ongoing arrests, demolition of Palestinian homes, and denial of Palestinians’ basic rights inside and outside of occupied Palestine. Instead of challenging the Israeli government’s colonial policies and holding it accountable to international law, Ms. Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, is exerting even more pressure on the PLO and urging a return to negotiations.
After the talks in Amman have been a failure, we ask you and ourselves, what is left for us? Our message to the PLO:
DO NOT CONTEMPLATE A RETURN TO NEGOTIATIONS!
We call upon the PLO leadership to stand by your decision not to return negotiations, whether covert or overt, or under any guise or any sort of pressure. We also ask you not to waste more time and to immediately embrace our people and work to achieve unity; to work with all Palestinian political factions and civil society groups to formulate a national strategy of steadfastness and resistance, in hand with a complete political, economic, cultural and academic boycott of the Zionist entity; and to conduct democratic and direct elections to the Palestine National Council for Palestinians everywhere.
We will stand outside the Moqata’a (Presidential Headquarters) this Saturday, February 4, at 1:00 pm in occupied Ramallah, and at the same time in Martyrs’ Square in occupied Nablus, to say to the PLO leadership: “Do not contemplate a return to negotiations.” And do not bother yourselves or the Arab governments with perpetuating what has failed over the last 20 years. And know that the Palestinian people have already made their choice, and they chose to be resolute.

في الوقت الذي وصلت فيه “ لقاءات عمان الاستكشافية“ إلى طريق مسدود، في مشهد بات يتكرر طوال العشرين عاما الماضية من المفاوضات، تتوجه قيادة منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية يوم السبت 2/4 للتشاور مع لجنة المتابعة العربية للبحث عن مخرج للأفق السياسي المسدود، متجاهلة مطلب الشارع الفلسطيني الواضح جدا والرافض لأي مفاوضات تحت الظروف الحالية.
فالضغط متزايد على المنظمة للعودة للمفاوضات رغم استمرار الاستيطان والاعتقلات وهدم البيوت وتشريد الناس، وبدلا من التصدي للحكومة الاسرائيلية، اعتبرت كاثرين آشتون ممثلة الاتحاد الأوروبي العليا للشؤون الخارجية انه “ليس هناك طريق مسدود والرئيس عباس يدرس بعناية كيفية المضي قدماً“. وبعد إعلان انتهاء اللقاءات الاستكشافية في عمان دون إحراز أي تقدم، نسألكم ونسأل انفسنا، ماذا تبقى لنا؟
لا تفكروا بالعودة الى المفاوضات!!!
نطالب قيادة المنظمة بالثبات على وقف اللقاءات التفاوضية تحت أي تسمية، وتحت أي ضغط، كما و نطالب القيادة بعدم تضييع المزيد من الوقت والالتفاف مباشرة حول الشعب ومؤازرة صموده في جميع اماكن تواجده والعمل على اتمام المصالحة والعمل مع كافة الفصائل والأطر المدنية الفلسطينية على صياغة إستراتيجية صمود ومقاومة مدعومة بمقاطعة الكيان الصهيوني اقتصاديا وسياسيا وثقافيا واكاديميا، وإجراء انتخابات ديمقراطية مباشرة للمجلس الوطني الفلسطيني، يشارك فيها كافة أبناء الشعب الفلسطيني أينما كانوا.
سنخرج يوم السبت 2/4 في الساعة الواحدة ظهرا امام المقاطعة في رام الله المحتلة وفي نفس الوقت في ميدان الشهداء في نابلس المحتلة لنقول للقيادة “لا تفكروا بالعودة الى المفاوضات“. ولا تتعبوا انفسكم والحكومات العربية في تداول ما فشل في عشرين عاما سبقوا، فالشعب مع الصمود.
